Fishing premiere in Mörrum

On Saturday, 1 March at 09:00, Mörrum's surest sign of spring starts, namely the fishing premiere - the 85th in a row.

Mörrumsån is known throughout Europe for its sport fishing for salmon and sea trout, and salmon weighing around 20 kg are caught annually.
The annual fishing premiere is a pleasant event for the whole family that attracts many visitors to Mörrum every year. In addition to the fishing, there will be a market with many different exhibitors on site.

Salmon fishing in Mörrum is an old tradition and since ancient times regal. It was described for the first time as early as 1231 in Valdemar II's land register. There are lots of exciting stories about fishing in the Mörrumsån which you will find in the exhibition in Laxens Hus.

Mörrum's Kronolaxfiske has been operated as a sport fishing destination since 1941, when the then fishing master Gunnar Johansson began to develop what we today can proudly call Sweden's crown jewel in the context of sport fishing and one of the world's most well-known waters for salmon and sea trout fishing.
