Experience the nature reserve Eriksbergs Stränder with hiking by the sea.
Beskrivning
The nature reserve Eriksbergs Stränder gives you a wonderful experience along the sea on the hiking trail Allböleleden. A landscape with both rocky beaches and lush forests. There are also remains of the many 19th-century crofts that bear witness to an older cultural landscape. Some parts along the hiking trail is quite demanding. The nature reserve consists of a coastal strip along the Eriksberg peninsula, the eastern part of Dragsö and smaller islands and islets in the surrounding sea. The area has a varied topography with a highest level around 30 meters above sea level.
Many traces of human activities can be found here, for example farm ruins and former fields with remains of enclosures that would protect the crops from wild animals and domestic animals.
The beaches mainly consist of rocks. In crevices and in places with deeper soil cover, there are denser stands of trees with everything from alder marsh to heath beech forest. In the mosaic-like landscape, the forests are mixed with boulder fields, small open grasslands and coastal meadows.
During high season, the boat goes from the city center of Karlshamn, via Matvik, to the Eriksberg nature reserve. See external link for current timetable.
From Allböleden, you can visit the safari park Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve for a good lunch, but the visit must be pre-booked by calling +46 (0)454-56 43 30. You will then be picked up and dropped off at the gate, about 300 meters from where the boat docks, as it is not allowed to explore the safari park on foot. More information about the park is available at www.eriksberg.se.
Semaphores are available at the jetty.
