Olofströms Näringsliv AB runs a project called; Sweden's Southernmost Wilderness
The purpose is to - Increase the attractiveness and provide the conditions for development on existing travel reasons, as well as marketing them. This creates direct and indirect positive effects for a large number of performers at different levels in society and gives more jobs in the tourism industry.
Some of the subgoals are:
Digital tools, Training courses, Collaborative groups, Developing travel guides, Marketing and mouthpiece for the commercial visitor industry in development issues.
Olofström and Blekinge should be:
an eldorado for the adventurous and a natural choice for the family's wilderness dreams
Marketing is initiated, websites are undergoing revision, networking between tourist actors has started and plans for the future are sanctioned in the control group. But before everything is done, Olofström as Sweden's Southernmost Wilderness already has plenty to offer.
It is no wonder that Olofström often is called a Mecca for fishing enthusiasts. With over 200 lakes and Mörrumsån in the municipality, we are Sweden's answer to Britain's "Lake District".
In Sweden's Southernmost Wilderness you will also find long and varied trails for hiking, cycling and riding. A total of 15.5 km riding trail that was recently completed.
Olofström also boasts Blekinge's largest lake, Halen. The area in and around Halen offers, among other things, canoe rental, camping, swimming, hotels, restaurants, sauna and fishing. Between your fishing or canoeing trips you may want to revel in the culture of the writer's village, have a coffee break at the Valhall wievpoint or play the paddle in Holje Park.
