In Sölvesborg, there are many beautiful cycle routes to take part in.
One of them is the cycle path on Listerlandet. Listerlandet is an exciting part of Sölvesborg with charming fishing villages, white sandy beaches, several nature reserves and much more. A bike ride in Listerlandet is a trip for all the senses. If you cycle the entire trail, it will be approximately 45 kilometers, but there are many opportunities for detours and shortcuts. In addition to the cycle path, there are also smaller roads and paths that lead through the agricultural landscape. Here you get close to the plantations and it is not impossible that you meet the farmers in their machines, keep away and show consideration!
Another lovely way to cycle is the Vesan round. In connection with the Sydostleden, you can cycle around the now dry Lake Vesan at the foot of Ryssberget. Vesan is Northern Europe's largest embankment company with 3,300 acres of fertile arable land, which was extracted by excavating a former lake. People have lived around Vesan since they wandered in after the ice age 13,000 years ago. Here there is a unique natural and cultural environment with many attractions between the Baltic Sea and Ryssberget. You can take part in this by cycling or possibly by car on the three routes, which are described in the map. In the middle of Vesan, Sweden's second lowest point is 2 meters below sea level.
If you want to cycle a longer distance, then the Sydostleden is something for you. Now you can cycle all the way from Simrishamn to Växjö on the new Sydostleden, which offers varied nature, good accommodation, good food, service and rich experiences. The map is available for sale at the tourist office for SEK 100. The southeast trail is 27 miles long and 80% of the trail is paved. The trail stretches between Växjö and Simrishamn, through Kronoberg, Blekinge and Skåne. Of course, you don't have to cycle the entire trail, but there is the possibility to make detours to local cycle paths. Here you will find a map and brochures about the South East Trail.
The Banvallsleden is another option. The trail is 250 kilometers long and stretches between Halmstad and Karlshamn. There are connecting routes from Alvesta, Tingsryd, Olofström, Näsum and Sölvesborg and they are 85 kilometers long. From Sölvesborg, the trail connects in Ynde just north of Sölvesborg. Enjoy Sweden and Sölvesborg from the bike and experience at your own pace.
You can also get through Sölvesborg's inner city by bike. Roll over the old cobbled streets in the city center, stop for a coffee before rolling on towards the ice cream and herring boat down in the inner harbour. Continue through Fyra Årstider Park and turn right over Sweden's longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge, Sölvesborg Bridge.
At the tourist office, you can also pick up a cycle map of Sölvesborg, so that you can more easily find the right one among all cycle paths.
