At Gummagården we meet Linda Lövberg who, together with her partner Jeppe Robertsson, runs the farm and the associated farm shop. Traditional farming that has been practiced for generations is combined with modern greenhouse cultivation. In the greenhouses, which together are larger than three football fields, 5 million cucumbers are harvested annually. In addition to cucumbers, vegetables, strawberries and raspberries are also grown here. The strawberries are planted continuously and this means that the berries are available to buy in the farm shop from the end of April right through to September.
The strawberry plants are bought frozen, within 60 days the strawberry is ready to eat.
In the spring of 2019, Gummagården was awarded the Centerpartiet Blekinge environmental prize for the efforts they make for the environment and climate. The entire farm is powered by climate-friendly electricity, all electricity consumed comes from renewable energy sources including from own solar panels. All irrigation is designed to go together with the nutrient supply in a closed system, which means that excess water is reused. Carbon dioxide from industries is reused by providing nutrients to the plants. Gummagården is therefore at the absolute forefront in terms of environmental and climate thinking.
Gummagården attracts visitors of all ages and has become a central point in the village. It is a wonderful place for both body and soul to get energy. You can sit down on one of the benches on the cozy farm and enjoy the company of the farm's animals. The farm shop also has ice cream to buy for the whole family.
Enjoy in the peaceful garden.
The farm shop has a wide range with everything from the farm's own delicacies in the form of seasonal primes and homemade rhubarb chutneys, jams, marmalades and BBQ sauces to clothing, interior design, gift arrangements and beautiful flowers. The store is a real gem where beautiful gift boxes and interior details adorn the shelves together with edible delights and fragrant flowers. You want to stay here for a long time!
The farm shop maintains a consistent style and receives continuous replenishments of both fashion and interior design.
